Alessandro Signetto is a major figure in the Italian documentary filmmaking community and trade representative, attends international trade markets and festivals where he offers tutorial services and promotes Italian documentaries.
Signetto is also the organiser of the yearly European Cinema and Audiovisual Days (ECAD) in Torino, Italy’s main Co-production Forum, which encourages the development of European documentaries and cross-media projects for all platforms. During the re-writing/development phase, experts follow the projects selected via the online proceedings on the website of ECAD.
The most recent ECAD was in mid-September, focusing mainly on cross-media, and linked to the first time with the ‘Crossover Lab Turin’. This was both a professional training course and five days of exchange of experience among 24 producers, telecom executives and publishers. This event was coordinated by ECAD and ‘co-produced’ by a new network of seven companies in Turin and the Crossover Lab from Sheffield, UK.
